A visit to Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens in Columbus at any time of year is special, but Christmas Time at Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens is magical Put the Conservatory Aglow on your must-see list!
There are 5 different greenhouses/gardens to explore inside. Imagine walking through candlelit pathways to each building; The Himalayan Mountain Biome, the Rainforest Biome, the Desert Biome, the Pacific Island Water Garden and the Dorothy M Davis Showhouse-this changes with the seasons/exhibitions and there are two rooftop gardens here as well-The Zen Terrace and The Grove. You can explore all these with admission.
There are 88 acres outdoors to explore too. The lights at Christmas time are so beautiful and a wonderful way to enjoy a winter evening with your family. We walked though the grounds, took in the musical lights displays and played at the play areas too. There was a lovely miniature and train display outside too-the Paul Busse Garden Railway.
When we were there, they had food trucks and drink trucks (hot cocoa!) outside with table areas to sit together for a quick bite. Inside they have a café during daytime hours and a gift shop. There was even a GingerBread House competition and display, it was so cute looking at all the different houses, and you can even cast your vote for the best one! Some evenings they have special musical guests, unfortunately not the night we were there though-we will definitely have to come again on one of those nights!
