The Mohicans TreeHouse Resort

We needed a winter get-away. The tree houses at The Mohican’s Tree House Resort did not disappoint. Located      between Amish country and Mohican State Park in a beautiful, wooded, secluded area.

We booked ‘The Nest’ for a one night stay, however, there are many tree houses to choose from, or larger cabins are available too. There is a stone path leading to the walkway up to the tree house, with twinkling lights in the deck and trees. There is an outdoor shower on the back deck and an adorable woodsy-decorated queen bedroom with small half bath inside.

After booking, you will receive directions and a key code for your accommodations. Everything is done online– no check-ins or meeting anyone. I would recommend a 4 wheel drive vehicle as this property is very secluded on back roads, especially in the winter with snow or in the spring with rains.

We mostly stayed here enjoying our room and our views and our privacy. But we did have to eat dinner. We drove into Loudonville, a small quaint town about ten minutes or so from the tree houses. We found a spot called Black Fork    Bistro right in town. I had steak and my husband had the salmon and it was delicious! We live close, but had never eaten here, we will definitely come again!

We enjoyed a goodnight’s sleep and watched the sunrise from our bed out the window in the early morning. Reluctant to leave but feeling invigorated, we headed back into Loudonville for breakfast at Mellor’s Family Restaurant. Old  fashioned breakfasts for a really good price.
